Look out Canada, The Light Runs Out This Friday August 5! [NEW TRAILER]

by on Aug.04, 2011, under News, Press

We have had an absolutely INSANE few weeks here at Tunnel HQ – mostly taken up with teaming up with the most awesome Blackrock Films in order to bring The Tunnel to North American cinemas!

Yes, you read that correctly. The movie you helped us make officially hits the big screen in Vancouver this Friday August 5 – check out the details here if you’re keen. I can assure you if it freaked you out watching it at home, you will be terrified watching it on the big screen.

In honour of our big screen North American debut, we’re releasing a new International Trailer that has been screening in Vancouver cinemas for a week now – hope you like it, and feel free to spread the good word to your friends as per usual… especially if they are Canadian!!!

BitTorrent.com and The Tunnel. Oh Yes.

by on May.14, 2011, under Behind The Scenes, Geeky Stuff, News, Press

Today (appropriately, Friday the 13th in the US) saw us lift the veil on possibly the most exciting piece of news we have had to share at Tunnel HQ so far.

Thanks to BitTorrent.com, Vodo.net and utorrrent.com, The Tunnel will be promoted as part of the Artist Spotlight Program to over 100 million users. Needless to say, for our humble little movie, that’s HUGE.

We’re very excited!

Check out the official blog post from BitTorrent.com here, and get ready to go underground!!

Less than 5 days to go!!

Don’t forget that if you pre-order before the release, you’ll get our 50-page “Inside The Tunnel” eBook absolutely free!

A Brief Message from The Director

Director Carlo Ledesma on the set of 'The Tunnel'

Director Carlo Ledesma on the set of 'The Tunnel'

Hi everyone,

Carlo here. First off, I’d just like to say thank you for all the overwhelming support you guys have given us over the past few months. It’s been very encouraging to see a lot of people get behind our crazy little experiment and each digital frame purchased just fuels us even more (quite literally: it helps pay for our coffee).

Publicity, merchandise, and open letters aside, we are quite aware that we do have a film to finish, and I’m pleased to report we are nearly there. A few weeks ago we filmed the interview sequences which were shot by my good friend Shing Fung Cheung, who’s been my DOP collaborator on the last three films I’ve done. He, alongside another good friend Inaki de Ubago lit the scenes beautifully, using bits of glass and wood to add subtle foreground textures to the frame.

Enzo and Jules have now taken all the footage into their edit suites and are whipping up a rough cut as we speak. Having looked at an assembly prior to shooting the interview scenes, I’d say we’ve got about 90% in the can, with a couple more key pickups to be filmed. The one I am excited about the most is coming up soon. Without giving too much away, it involves a large body of water, one soaking wet actress, and me either donning some SCUBA gear or holding my breath for extended periods of time.

Because I was in crazy-busy demon monkey director mode during principal photography I didn’t have much time to take photos but below are a few snaps I managed to take of some cast and crew. Shot on film, cos I’m old school like that.
